“ Tesla seeks import relief till it builds e-cars in India “

In a tweet on Thursday, Musk said :

“ Tesla is in discussion with the government of India requesting temporary relief on import penalties / restrictions until a local factory is built “

THIS IS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY WHICH WE MUST NOT MISS  !

WHY  ?

Because , only Elon has the imagination /  resources and the passion , to transform the transport scenario of India by implementing the following initiatives of our government :

·         6 million e-cars by 2022 ( acting as a CATALYST for Indian Car Industry )

·          

·         All e-cars by 2030

·          

·         Small swappable Li-ion batteries for 3-wheelers

·          

·         EV charging Stations based on Tesla’s Solar Roof Top Tiles

·          

·         PowerWall ( solar ) storage solutions for domestic use / grid storage

·          

·         Solar roof top tiles ( to replace Solar panels ? )

·          

·         Solar Panel roofs for cars ( translating ISRO design into reality )

·          

·         New Urban Transport Policy

HOW  TO  PERSUADE  ELON  ?

By agreeing to set off  “ import penalties ( import duties ? ) “ in exchange for Elon accepting :

#  “ Export “ commitment for equivalent amount in 3 years

#  Accepting the following PMP ( phased manufacturing program ) , as suggested in my following blog ( earlier sent on 24 May 2017 , as email to NDA ministers / Secretaries and to Elon , as well ) :

Dear Elon :

For immediate approval ( in 24 hours ) , pl submit your PMP as follows :

2017-18  :

Set up factory next to Mundra Port ( Gujarat ) to facilitate world-wide exports

2018-19  :

Source locally , Tyres / Chasis / Body / Electricals  / Windows / Dashboards ..etc

2019-20   :

Manufacture in your own factory , Li-ion Battery  / Wall-mounted Powerwall Storages /

Solar Roof Tiles

2020-21  :

Manufacture  RFID Sensors - Cameras – GPS locators

2021-22   :

Augmented Reality  Devices  /  Autonomous Navigation Devices ( Radar – Lidar  )

Now , it is very possible that neither Shri Gadkariji , nor Shri Goyalji , would be satisfied with such a slow PMP , spread out over a period of 5 years

They may , well request  Elon to cut it down to 3 years

And , if they do, I get a feeling that Elon would telescope the entire PMP , in 2 YEARS !

After all , Elon is the biggest proponent of :

Internet of Vehicles  ( IoV )
